For a long time, I struggled with the conflict between the idea of free will, the idea of a God who knows all that was, is, and will come, and the idea of a God who loves his created people despite this advance knowledge of their actions. Christian denominations split widely on the issue, and many will throw buzz words like "predestination" and "foreknowledge" at you, but as with all practical faith, there comes a point where you have to reconcile these ideas and relate them to something real.

Finally, I realized a surprisingly obvious fact: knowing how a person will behave, being able to love that person, and allowing that person to act of their own accord can indeed coincide.....in fact, we can see it quite easily in parent-child relationships and among close friends. A parent can often predict how their child will act or make decisions under certain circumstances, but they still love that child regardless.

Destiny is a complicated thing to consider. In Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series, he refers to destiny as "ka", and one of the most used phrases by characters of those books is "Ka will take care of itself". So does that mean that we should simply abandon our own will and idly wait for destiny to decide what to do with us? Hardly. I think this dialog from "The Last Samurai" puts it best:

"Do you think a man can change his destiny?"
"I think a man does what he can, until his destiny is revealed."

I like ur new look :) very nice...

i agree with u on that power thing, i used to try to manipulate people until i came to the thought about how i would feel if someone were doing that to me. but then if they were using their manipulation for good, to teach me something, i'd like for them to at first use the forward approach trying to teach me with them knowing that they're teaching me. if that does not work, then i think it'd be ok to try to manipulate me but only if it were for my own good. at the same time, who are they to be determining what is good for me? should not i, an autonomous human being given that all my parts works well and i was brought up properly, be given that freedom to decide what i should do with my own life? lastly, this reminds me of what parents try oft to do with their children. decide for them what they think is best for their children (obviously only because they love their children so much). so "good" depends on ur perception of it. is there really a "good"?? or is there only the good that you see?
